Photo: Getty Unidentified cyber criminals have rolled out a service that allows anyone to create fake nude images of women from a regular photograph, a cyber research agency tracking deepfakes said in a report released on Tuesday, uncovering a growing ecosystem that has already targeted at least , women and threatens to open a new front in online sexual abuse. A deepfake is any manipulated media created by an artificial intelligence technique called deep learning. The technology first gained attention in and evolved rapidly, with experts warning that it can affect democracy and law since, among other things, deepfakes can be used to create convincing fakes about rival politicians and generate false evidence to implicate someone in crime.

Thousands of fake naked women photos shared online

New Delhi: In worrying news and a gross violation of privacy, fake naked photographs of thousands of women are being created from their social media pictures and shared online, without their knowledge it consent. According to a report by BuzzFeed, a newly invented Artificial Intelligence bot is being used by a Telegram network to create fake nude images of women. Notably, this process only works on photographs of women.
According to Sensity, the deepfake bot only requires a single image of a person. The company added that it appeared some of the shared images were of minors. The bot is free to use by simply joining a private messaging channel on Telegram.
